Crystallites
Crystallites are creatures of living crystal that gather and craft for you while you play something else.
Unawakened crystals
A crystal can drop in any gathering skill: one per 72 hours of gathering on average. The chance per action is proportional to its duration, so the tier does not matter and speed bonuses raise the chance per hour. There is no guarantee. Crystals are sold on the market.
Crystals from thieving and acrobatics are wild: the species is decided on awakening. Most often it is a weasel or an owl (25% each), which are found nowhere else, the other species 10% each. So over all gathering skills every species turns up about as often.
Crystal Cradle
A city building that appears after the first find. It is built and upgraded by putting in basic materials, bit by bit.
A young Cradle shows little about crystallites: skills, rarity, level and total clarity. Aptitude stars show from level 2, stats from 4, the exact job forecast from 6, the clarity split and rarity odds from 8, the exact awakening time from 10.
| Level | Gives | Cost |
|---|---|---|
| 1 | nests: 1, jobs at once: 1 | |
| 2 | nests: 1, jobs at once: 2 | |
| 3 | nests: 1, jobs at once: 2, feeding limit +0.25% per hour | |
| 4 | nests: 2, jobs at once: 2, feeding limit +0.25% per hour | |
| 5 | nests: 2, jobs at once: 2, feeding limit +0.25% per hour, growth clarity +2% | |
| 6 | nests: 2, jobs at once: 3, feeding limit +0.25% per hour, growth clarity +2% | |
| 7 | nests: 2, jobs at once: 3, feeding limit +0.5% per hour, growth clarity +2%, slightly better odds of 4-5 whims | |
| 8 | nests: 3, jobs at once: 3, feeding limit +0.5% per hour, growth clarity +2%, slightly better odds of 4-5 whims | |
| 9 | nests: 3, jobs at once: 4, feeding limit +0.5% per hour, growth clarity +4%, slightly better odds of 4-5 whims | |
| 10 | nests: 3, jobs at once: 4, feeding limit +0.75% per hour, growth clarity +4%, slightly better odds of 4-5 whims |
Growth and clarity
A crystal in a nest awakens on its own at a random moment 12-24 hours after placing, offline too. The moment is not shown, cannot be sped up, and the crystal cannot be taken back.
Clarity sets the rarity odds. Growth gives up to 20% in a day, feeding processed family goods (ingots, planks, meals, cloth, potions; raw materials do not count, a wild crystal takes goods of any family) up to 30% (at most 3% per hour), each fulfilled whim 10%. A crystal has 1-5 whims, one can be replaced once.
| Clarity | 0% | 50% | 100% |
|---|---|---|---|
| Common | 50% | 32.5% | 15% |
| Uncommon | 30% | 30% | 30% |
| Rare | 15% | 24% | 33% |
| Epic | 4.5% | 10.8% | 17% |
| Legendary | 0.5% | 2.8% | 5% |
Species and families
The species depends on where the crystal was found. Families are the vocations.
| Species | Family | Skills |
|---|---|---|
| Quartz Mole | Blacksmith | Mining, Smithing |
| Emerald Fox | Huntsman | Woodcutting, Hunting, Crafting |
| Garnet Lynx | Huntsman | Woodcutting, Hunting, Crafting |
| Sapphire Otter | Innkeeper | Fishing, Cooking |
| Amethyst Moth | Runeweaver | Weaving, Runecrafter |
| Obsidian Weasel | Rogue | Thieving, Acrobatics |
| Opal Owl | Arcanist | Alchemy, Enchanter |
Aptitudes
Stars per skill are rolled on awakening: the source skill 3-5, other family skills 1-4, and in 30% of cases one more strong aptitude outside the family. Higher rarity means more high stars. A crystallite works only in skills with stars.
Work speed as a share of your own speed on the same action, by stars: 1: 12%, 2: 20%, 3: 28%, 4: 36%, 5: 44%. Each acrobatics star adds 2% to the speed of all work and unlocks attunement.
Stats
Dexterity speeds up work (+0.18% per point). Stamina lengthens jobs (4 h + 1 h per 10 points, up to 12 h) and the resonance capacity. Instinct raises rare finds (+0.5% per point) and the chance to bring back an unawakened crystal.
| Rarity | Stats |
|---|---|
| Common | roll 5-10, +0.2 per level |
| Uncommon | roll 8-14, +0.25 per level |
| Rare | roll 12-18, +0.3 per level |
| Epic | roll 16-24, +0.35 per level |
| Legendary | roll 22-30, +0.4 per level |
Levels
Experience comes from hours of work, a bit more for high-tier work. The cap is 200 for every rarity; after 100 levels come much slower. Below: days of round-the-clock work.
| Level | Days of work |
|---|---|
| 25 | 0.4 |
| 50 | 1.6 |
| 100 | 12.9 |
| 150 | 71.7 |
| 200 | 329.3 |
Jobs
Duration 1, 4, 8, 12 h, but no longer than Stamina allows. A job costs 25 resonance per hour; food and rare finds give resonance. The Cradle level sets how many jobs run at once. Crystallites give the owner no skill XP.
Expedition: any location of a gathering skill open to you, loot from the same tables. Thieving without failures or damage.
Production: the same recipes; materials for all crafts are taken at the start and returned if the crystallite is recalled early. Your doubles and production bonuses do not apply.
Attunement (acrobatics): the crystallite spends no resonance but builds it up, 5 per hour per acrobatics star (Dexterity and vocation speed it up), and shares it with the other crystallites up to their capacity at the end.
Charms (enchanting, the owl has it): the crystallite holds one charm. Per enchanting star: deftness +3% work speed, instinct +6% rare finds and crystals, mentor +6% XP (Dexterity and vocation strengthen it). A charm eats resonance like work, but less as the crystallite grows: 5% of the usual by level 150. A charm acts on the others' jobs started or repeated under it, for the part it covers. One crystallite at a time holds each charm, it cannot be lifted early.
Vocation: when the crystallite's family matches your active vocation it works 5% faster, 10% from vocation level 50.
Stars can be raised up to 5: a star costs as many unawakened crystals of the family (or wild ones) as there are stars already and needs a crystallite level: 2: [object Object]; 3: [object Object]; 4: [object Object]; 5: [object Object].
A crystallite you do not need can be released or given to another: that one gets half its XP, a rarity gift (2/4/8/16/32 h of XP) and its resonance up to its capacity. Only an equal or stronger one passes on all the XP: 4 times less per rarity step down, and less when the given one has a lower level.
