Terms of Service
Crystal Idle is operated by an independent developer ("we", "us", "our"). By accessing or using Crystal Idle at crystalidle.com you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, please do not use the game.
1. Eligibility
You must be at least 13 years old to use Crystal Idle. By creating an account you confirm that you meet this requirement. If you are between 13 and 18 years old, you confirm that you have the permission of a parent or legal guardian to use the service.
2. Accounts
- You are responsible for keeping your account credentials secure. Do not share your password with anyone.
- You may not sell, transfer, or give away your account to another person.
- You may not create multiple accounts to gain an unfair advantage over other players.
- We reserve the right to suspend or permanently terminate accounts that violate these Terms, with or without prior notice.
- Your account username and display nickname must not be offensive, impersonate other players or real persons, or violate applicable law.
- We reserve the right to restrict access by IP address or other technical means if necessary to enforce these Terms or prevent abuse.
3. Acceptable Use
You agree not to:
- Use bots, macros, scripts, or any automation tools to play the game.
- Exploit bugs or unintended mechanics for unfair advantage. Discovered bugs should be reported to us, not abused.
- Harass, threaten, impersonate, or abuse other players.
- Attempt to access, probe, or disrupt our servers, infrastructure, or other players' accounts.
- Use the game or its content for any commercial purpose without our prior written consent.
- Copy, reproduce, or distribute any part of the game without permission.
- Buy, sell, or trade in-game items, market listings, currencies (including Crystals obtained through the in-game auction), or accounts in exchange for real-world money, goods, or services outside the game.
- Deliberately deceive or defraud other players through false promises, misleading information, or any other dishonest means.
4. Public Chat
Crystal Idle includes a public chat feature that lets you communicate with other players in real time. By using the public chat you agree to the following:
- Conduct - the rules in Section 3 (Acceptable Use) apply to all chat messages. Do not post illegal, harmful, harassing, or abusive content.
- Content moderation - we reserve the right to remove any messages that violate these Terms or that we consider inappropriate. We are not obligated to monitor the chat at all times.
- No endorsement - we do not endorse content posted by users in chat and disclaim all liability for such content. Views expressed in chat are solely those of the individual users.
- Privacy in chat - the public chat is visible to all players. Do not share personal information (real name, address, phone number, etc.) in public chat.
- Availability - we do not guarantee that the chat will be error-free or uninterrupted.
5. User Content
When you use Crystal Idle you may submit content such as chat messages, character names, or other in-game text ("User Content"). You retain ownership of your User Content. By submitting User Content you grant us a non-exclusive, royalty-free, perpetual, irrevocable licence to use, store, display, and moderate that content as necessary to operate and improve the service. We are not responsible for any User Content and do not endorse it.
6. Virtual Items, Currency and Purchases
All in-game items, currencies, and progress are virtual and have no real-world monetary value. They are licensed to you, not sold. We may modify, remove, or rebalance any in-game content at any time for gameplay or operational reasons. You have no property right or ownership claim over any virtual goods.
Premium Currency (Crystals)
Crystals are a premium in-game currency purchased with real money. They have no real-world monetary value and cannot be withdrawn or exchanged back for real money under any circumstances. Crystals may be traded between players on the in-game auction for in-game gold only. Refund conditions are described in the Refunds section below.
Premium Subscription
A Premium subscription grants access to additional in-game benefits for the purchased period. Subscriptions are currently sold as one-time purchases for a fixed period and do not renew automatically. If we introduce auto-renewing subscriptions in the future, the terms of renewal will be presented clearly at the time of purchase.
Refunds
All purchases are final and non-refundable as a general rule. The following specific cases apply:
- Crystals purchased directly from us and not yet spent - Crystals are sold in fixed packages (e.g. 100 Crystals). If you are in the EU/EEA and have not spent any Crystal from a package, you may have a 14-day right of withdrawal under the EU Consumer Rights Directive for that package as a whole. This right is waived if, at the time of purchase, you explicitly confirm that you want immediate access and acknowledge that spending any Crystal from the package constitutes full use of it, after which no refund is available. Your explicit confirmation will be obtained at the time of purchase.
- Crystals that have been (fully or partially) spent - each Crystal package is sold and delivered as a single indivisible unit. Once any Crystal from a package has been spent (used in the shop, converted, or otherwise consumed), the entire package is considered fully delivered and is non-refundable in full. Partial refunds for unspent Crystals within a package are not available under any circumstances.
- Crystals acquired through the in-game auction - Crystals obtained by trading in-game gold on the player auction are not a purchase from us and are not eligible for any refund under any circumstances.
- Premium subscription - a subscription purchase grants immediate access to premium benefits. By purchasing a subscription you confirm that you want immediate access and acknowledge that the right of withdrawal (where applicable) is waived upon activation. Subscriptions are non-refundable once activated.
- Exceptions - we will issue a refund if: (a) a billing error on our part resulted in an incorrect charge; (b) the service is permanently shut down before the purchased period expires; or (c) applicable mandatory law requires a refund in a specific situation not covered above.
To request a refund under an applicable exception, contact us at support@crystalidle.com with your account name and a description of the issue.
If your account is suspended or permanently banned for violating these Terms, you lose access to all virtual items, game progress, and paid features associated with that account. No refund will be issued in such cases.
Fraud Prevention
We reserve the right to investigate suspected fraudulent transactions and to withhold or cancel the delivery of virtual goods until payment has been verified. Accounts found to have engaged in fraudulent chargebacks or payment disputes may be suspended or permanently terminated.
7. Intellectual Property
All content in Crystal Idle - including graphics, text, code, game mechanics, audio, and interface design - is owned by or licensed to us. You are granted a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to access and play the game for personal, non-commercial use. No other rights are granted.
8. Service Availability
We provide Crystal Idle on an "as is" and "as available" basis. We may perform maintenance, apply updates, or discontinue the service at any time, with or without prior notice. We do not guarantee uninterrupted access, freedom from errors, or that any specific feature will remain available.
9. Disclaimer of Warranties
To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, Crystal Idle is provided without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including but not limited to merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement. We do not warrant that the game will be error-free or that your data will never be lost.
10. Limitation of Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, we shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of the game, including loss of data or virtual items, even if we have been advised of the possibility of such damages. Where the law does not permit full exclusion of liability, our total liability shall not exceed the amount you paid us in the twelve months preceding the claim.
11. Changes to Terms
We may update these Terms at any time. The "Last updated" date at the top of this page reflects the most recent revision. Continued use of the game after updated Terms are posted constitutes your acceptance of the changes.
12. Governing Law and User Rights by Region
Crystal Idle is operated by an individual developer. These Terms are intended to comply with applicable law to the extent possible. Nothing in these Terms removes or limits rights you have under the mandatory laws of your country of residence.
- European Union / EEA. Your statutory consumer and data-protection rights under EU law are not affected by these Terms. See our Privacy Policy for details on how we handle your data.
- United Kingdom. Your rights under the UK GDPR and the Consumer Rights Act 2015 apply. Any term that is unfair under the Unfair Contract Terms Act 1977 or the Consumer Rights Act 2015 shall not bind you.
- Russian Federation. The game is accessible to users in Russia. Your statutory rights as a consumer under Russian law are not affected by these Terms. For data-related rights and information about how we handle personal data, see our Privacy Policy.
- United States. If you are a California resident, you may have rights under the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA) regarding your personal information. We do not sell personal data. Contact us at the address below to exercise your rights.
- Other countries. Where local mandatory law grants you consumer or data-protection rights that cannot be waived by contract, those rights are not affected by these Terms.
Disputes will preferably be resolved by direct contact with us. Where a formal dispute cannot be resolved amicably, it shall be subject to applicable law, without prejudice to any mandatory local consumer-protection rules that apply in your country of residence.
